It is with great sadness that I learned of the passing of my friend and friend of many, Marine Sgt. Clyde R. “Dick” Ebert. Dick has been an active member of our 1st Mar Div Assn, Oregon/Columbia River Chapter for many years, and the Korean War Veterans Association, too, and will be sorely missed. He was also a very productive volunteer for the Toys for Tots campaign last year, and I can personally attest that Dick was one proud Marine who loved Our Corps. He was a ‘GatorMan”, who participated in the Incheon Landing and battle of Seoul in 1950. His citations include: Presidential Unit Citation ribbon w/1 star, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal w/3 stars, Korean Presidential Unit Citation ribbon, UN Korean Service Medal and Republic of Korea War Service Medal. He was also a recipient of the Ambassador for Peace Medal from the Republic of Korea Government Ministry of Patriots & Veterans Affairs and Korean Veterans Association. Rest in peace Dick, in God's hands! Semper Fidelis (always faithful), Fideli Certa Merces (to the faithful there is certain reward), 'Fair Winds and Following Seas', Marine.
